Easter Party and Egg Hunt...TAKE ONE

Our neighborhood Easter party and egg hunt was today. If you read my previous post, you will know that Landon didn't get to participate. Reagan and I decided to make it a bonding experience for just the two of us. She loved the undivided attention!

She started with a little ride on the train.

Then we were off to play with the parachute.

This lovely bunny made a guest appearance at the party. She was something else!
She did a short little magic show for the kids before the egg hunt began.

Reagan loved watching and eating a popsicle in the 80 degree weather!
Then came time for the egg hunt. We grab our baskets and head to the park where all of the eggs for Reagan's age group have been hidden. As we are walking over there, we see that there are a ton of older kids already at the park HUNTING OUR EGGS! I was fuming! I yell for Reagan to run and get as many eggs as she can find....if any are even left. All the other parents were doing the same. Once we all got there, EVERY EGG had been taken and the ones left were empty. I have never been more angry! Almost every 4 and 5 year-old was in tears and no one seemed to know what had happened. I explained to my broken hearted little girl that the mean older kids (yes, I called them that!) ruined the egg hunt for the them and promised her there would be more egg hunts in her near future! There was one mom there who did make her "older child" give Reagan a couple of pieces of candy. Gee...how generous. WE DIDN'T WANT THE STINKING CANDY.....WE WANTED TO HUNT THE EGGS, WOMAN!

I think I was the only mom who actually took a picture of her child crying. I am so bad!

Thank goodness for a preschool egg hunt on Tuesday and a family hunt on Sunday! And if ANYONE tries to take my girl's Easter eggs at those events.....BEWARE! I will personally take you down!

Oh no the didn't!!! Where were the older kids parents? That sort of stuff makes me crazy mad, thank goodness she'll get another hunt this week!!!! I am so glad L is feeling better, poor little guy. For the record I know I would have made Ryan eat too:-). Sounds like a fun week.
