The Wades and The Borings

I really cannot believe I have never posted about these two families. First of all, Blake and Angie are two of my best friends and honestly, I do not know how I would get through my weeks without them. We see each other at least 3 or 4 times a week and can tell you the others' schedules like they are our own. Day in and day out, good days and bad days, we hang out. Our children are like siblings (in good ways and bad!) and pretty much start off each day asking if we are getting together that day. I cannot tell you how many mornings I hear..."Are we seeing Abbie, Avery and Hudson today?" Most mornings, my answer is yes! We do get together for the kids sake, but mostly, it is simply for us mommies. We are "co-dependant" as Blake's mom likes to call us. I cannot imagine my life without these two families in it.

Angie, me (pregnant with Payton!), and Blake

OK - now on to the real reason for the post. The other day we decided that it was time we do something a little different. A little more creative, if you will. Most days consist of the moms being downstairs and the kids playing upstairs. This day, we wanted to mix things up a bit. We made it more of a craft day and the kids loved it!
We started off with octodogs for lunch! (Thanks for the idea, Wendi and Caryn!)
Avery is not a hotdog fan, so we made her a jellyfish sandwich! (jelly sandwich cut into the shape of a fish...I know, sort of lame!)
Next item on the agenda...painting little canvases.
Then it was on to ice cream sundaes! (Hudson and Avery are siblings.)
Here are two peas in a pod enjoying their ice cream. (Abbie has a new baby sister, Megan! Having baby sisters is just one of the MANY things these girls have in common!)

The final activity for the day was making peanut butter playdough. It was not all it was cracked up to be, if you ask me. The kids did enjoy it for a short time, but the mess it made was more of a hassle than it was worth!
Here's to another craft day at some point in the future! (Notice I didn't say "NEAR Future!")

Just a little side note: If you can tell in the pictures, the kids are all dressed in multiple things throughout the day. This is very common each time they play. The first thing they do when everyone gets here is run upstairs, put on costumes, gowns, pjs, etc. I just didn't want you thinking we don't dress our children for these playdates! They come dressed and leave dressed! We promise!
