December 16th was certainly a day full of celebrations! I began my day going to see one of my BFFs, Caryn, who was in labor with her twin boys! Boy, oh, boy was it so much fun for me to get to be there for a little while that morning! I have had the joy of being in the waiting room for her other two boys' births, and I was so sad I couldn't be there the entire day to witness the twins arrival! Don't worry...I was planning to come back that evening to get my hands on the two new miracles!
I left the hospital that morning to head to Waco for another very special celebration! My precious daddy is retiring from Baylor (He's been there for 25 years!) on January 3rd. His office had a retirement party for him and the Brown clan was not going to miss it!
We are all so proud of our Doc!
These three stayed busy the entire time playing under the stairwell!
There was a table set up for everyone to write my dad a note of appreciation and well wishes. Payton was about to write one of her own!
Payton and her Uncle Kyle
Reagan
On to note #2!
Mimi and her girls
This is a horrible picture, but I wanted to document the BU clock he was given by his staff.
This is Virginia Ellis. She has know me for years and her family actually played a big part in our wedding. I was so happy to see her and so thankful she took time out of her day to come see us!
Once the retirement party was over, it was off to dinner and then back to Dallas! We had such a great time, but once it was over, I had one thing on my mind. BABIES! I was ready to get back to see Coyt and Crew Smith who had been born while I was away!
And here they are! Two Tiny Precious Miracles!
their amazing, beautiful mommy, Caryn
Daddy and Mommy with their two littles
I know I'm not related, but I sure was proud and so, so thankful to get to hold Coyt and Crew!
Don't know why this picture is turned the way it is, but I loved this moment! Caryn was talking/showing her sister, Aunt Kacey, one of her new nephews! So, so sweet!
Like I said, it was a day FULL of celebrations and my heart was SO FULL when I went to bed that night. Thank you, God for so many reasons to celebrate!

What a special day! Thanks for sharing! Happy New Year!
Aww Shannon so sweet. It meant so much to me to have you there - you have no idea. Thanks for going to such great lengths to make it happen, it really wouldn't have been the same without you (seriously!!!). Love you sweet friend. Sort of makes me sad to think that (with the exception of some plans the Lord has that we are both very unaware of) we won't get to share in any more "birth days" with each other. :(
Congrats Doc - I know he will be greatly missed at BU!
Such and emotional day! Cannot believe your sweet dad has retired (mine does that next year). And to drive all that way to Waco for that as well as do the Smith hospital run is a lot! So thankful you were there for all of us!
You ARE family!!! And I am so glad for that! Love this post sweet friend, it was such a great day.
