McDougal Lakehouse

Let me start by saying I would have no problems packing up my entire house and family today and moving to this lake.  I love the lake, but wouldn't call myself a lake rat by any means.  I'm telling you, this place could turn me into one real quick!  I have never been to a more beautiful, peaceful place in all my life.  The McDougals are dear friends of ours and Brad and Alan (my kids call him Laloo) grew up together in Sherman.  Cary is Alan's older brother.  Cary has always been someone my husband admires and respects and we jump at any chance to get to spend time with them all.  Cary and Diane own the house on Lake Cypress Springs and were generous enough to let our family of 5 and Alan, Britt and Jaxon come spend a few days with them.  I need to also mention that Cary is what I would call a gourmet chef.  He cooked the most incredible meals for us while we were there.  My kids didn't want to leave and like I said before, we could have been convinced to move on in had the option presented itself!

We started our mornings off fishing.  Well...the Brown family isn't real "outdoorsy" and the only fish we are really used to catching are perch, tiny bass or minnows.  :-)  The first fish Brad reeled in was a pretty good sized catfish.  This picture makes me laugh because my sweet husband had to watch a YouTube video about how to get the hook out of its mouth!
The gorgeous house we called home those few days

Diane has taught many kids to ski in her day!  Here she is helping Landon!
And He's Up!
It only lasted a second, but he did it!  I'm sure he'll be skiing like a pro the next time we are out!
Reagan's turn!  She got SO close!
Britt and I spent most of our time watching from the boat!
Jet skiing was a huge hit!
The kids also tried out the knee board.  They loved it because it was a little easier than skiing and they were able to get up and stay up!  Here's Reagan about to pop and show us how it's done!

THANK YOU, Cary, Diane, Laloo and Britt!
What an incredible few days we had spending time with you at the lake.  We can't wait go back!
