Obviously, I have been completely lacking on the blog posts lately! Honestly, at first I just chalked it up to nothing worth writing about. I know that is far from the truth, because my babies are always worth writing about, it's just that life around here has been sort of boring. I say that with a little hesitation because I know there are many, many mommies who would give anything for my boring last few weeks. (Actually, my sisters, nephew and mom came in to town for a few days and I think I took a total of ONE picture!) The kids are loving every bit of school and Payton and I are enjoying our time together, just the two of us! I promise to update soon on our start to the fall soccer and baseball seasons, but for now we are busy with that and feeling blessed to be living a boring life! :-)
Now, on to something completely unrelated to anything above or even anything that has been going on. I have been meaning to devote a post to this for quite some time, but have not wanted to conquer the searching for and scanning of all the pictures. I figured now was as good of a time as any! I have talked about my lifelong (almost that long!) best friend, Lauren, many times on my blog. We grew up together, went through school together, lived at Baylor together, traveled with our husbands together (pre-kids), and had our first babies together. (By together I mean two weeks apart!) I remember she and Hank making a special trip to Dallas to come tell Brad and me that they were going to have a baby! The funny thing was, Brad and I had just found out the night before that we were also going to have a baby! Just one more incredible blessing that we were getting to experience together! All of this to say, Caroline and Landon have been buddies since Landon was a day old. We gave them no other choice! Lauren and I often marvel at how old they are now and we reminisce about the days when they were tiny. I dug up all kinds of pictures and I completely understand if Lauren (and maybe our mothers!) are the ones interested in this post! I do warn you, there are a lot of pictures! I could have posted many more, but I didn't want to spend the next four hours uploading! Laurie - enjoy these and know that I am so thankful to have you (and your precious babies and husband!) in our lives! I hope to get to post many more pictures of our "big kids" in the years to come. (You know....like when they are moving into their dorms at Baylor! :-) Love you!
Their first picture together....Caroline a few hours old and Landon is two weeks away from making his appearance!

Caroline 19 days old and Landon 4 days old

This picture still cracks me up. Poor bubba!

Lauren and Caroline came to visit. The babies were just a few months old.

Our mommies propped us up trying to get a good picture. Not so sure it worked!

Beauty and the Beast (a handsome beast if I do say so myself!)

gosh, i cannot believe how quickly the years have flown. i have a vivid memory of holding them both and watching them lay on a blanket at Caryn's house in Sachse. Looong time ago! wow.
and Landon was my first "chunk" that I fell in love with! :) Little did I know I'd get one of my own one day!
Many blessings in all of our lives. and I agree with Angie--Lauren looks too young to be having a baby in that pic.
And you just might be doing rehearsal dinners someday together as well! You girls look so young in those photos! I still remember those babies being the first in the group - seems like so long ago at Katy's bachelorette party when you guys had to take off to go nurse those sweet things. Cannot believe how old they are getting!!!
