Answered Prayers in Houston

***This post was originally written back in July but I couldn't post it until things were official with the Michaelis family!  Praise the Lord for this new family of FIVE!***

I don't really have adequate words to describe how I felt about my trip to Houston in June.  My girls and I got to spend a few days with one of my life-long best friends, Shannon, that has recently adopted two precious children.  Not only were we there to visit, but two more of my favorite friends were there with their kids, too.  Wendi and Jenise had yet to meet Levi and Lexi and were just as anxious as I was.  To know that we had prayed for these kids for so long and now we were meeting them face to face was so incredibly overwhelming.  To say we were excited was a major understatement!  I can't think of a better compliment to give my dear friend, Shannon, than to say that it's like she has been a mother to three for a long time.  Being at her house and watching her parent her kids (and take care of all of us at the same time!) was amazing.  It was evident Levi and Lexi were created by God to be a Michaelis and they fit perfectly in this family!  Shannon and Derek have been so faithful to trust in God's timing and boy did He answer their prayers in ways they never would have dreamed.

We had to stop at Buc-ee's on our way to Houston!
Lexi and Payton are just about a month apart.
I love that Shannon and I have girls that are the same age!

Mrs. Shannon rented an awesome water slide while we were there!
It was a hit!
Shannon had every meal planned out!
Such a treat to be served by her those days.
(Even if she eats WAY healthier than the rest of us!)
The whole crew!
Picture Perfect.
Reality!
WE LOVE YOU, Michaelis Family!
(Stole this beautiful picture from Shannon's blog!)
