To say the Brown house has been under the weather would be putting it lightly! My two girls have been downright SICK! Reagan has had a cough for quite a while now and I really didn't think anything of it. Friday morning, she woke up with pink eye in both eyes (the second time in two weeks) so I threw in the towel and decided to take her in and get her checked out. Let's just say that I walked away with a big fat ribbon that read "Mother of the Year!" The poor baby not only had pink eye, but a sinus infection and bronchitis. We left with drops for her eyes, antibiotics for her sinus infection and breathing treatments for the bronchitis. Lovely! It doesn't stop there. That afternoon Payton really began feeling yucky and started to run a fever. I wasn't concerned about her kidneys this time around because she had a snotty nose and other symptoms that would lead you to believe it was something other than that. So - back to the doctor we went. (I really think our doctor's office might just add a wing on dedicated to the Brown family. We seem to have taken up residence there lately!) By the time we made it to the office, P was running a fever of around 104. After our check-up this go round, we walked out with a stack of Tamiflu prescriptions and an antibiotic! Payton was diagnosed with the SWINE FLU and ear infections! Honestly, I was shocked. I have heard mixed reviews on how this flu effects kids. Some have said it was nothing and their kids bounced back quickly. Other have said it is horrible and they wouldn't wish it on their worst enemy! I am going with the later. Sweet Payton's fever spiked to 105.5 at one point and she was miserable for the first couple of days. She is still sleeping horribly and up most of the night, but during the day she is finally starting to get back to her old, happy self. We are praying that the rest of us stay stay well. Mimi came this weekend to help out and that was the biggest blessing ever! Mr. Britton and Mrs. Michelle also came to help a couple of times this weekend. Thank you Mimi, Mr. Britton and Mrs. Michelle for coming to the rescue and allowing me to be at Landon's last basketball game and first baseball game of the season!
I haven't taken many pictures in the past week or so, but here are a few glimpses into my world these past few days! Most of them are horrible quality because they were taken with my phone. Sorry!
Not feeling too hot but loving total control of the remote!
breathing treatments three times a day
The only way this baby is getting any sleep is laying directly on top of me!

When she is not sleeping on Mommy, she is.....

up in the wee hours of the night watching Praise Baby. (so mommy and daddy can shut our eyes for a solid 30 minutes straight!)

This healthy kid has spent many hours in his room playing with legos and just staying away from all the germs! He is such a trooper!
UPDATE: Since writing this, Reagan is feeling much better and almost back to her old self! Payton is still not sleeping but seems to be happier for the most part during the day. I am just praying that in the next couple of nights we can get back to our normal...in bed at 7 or 7:30 and sleeping until morning! Doesn't that sound heavenly!?

Shannon I'm so sorry for you and your girls :( What a difference from Thursday when you guys were bright eyed and bushy tailed! PLEASE let me know if I can do ANYTHING. Hope you guys continue to get better quickly!
Oh sweet friend! I have been slow on the return phone call to you to follow up on my fam, and here you are struggling with your own! I am praying for healing for you guys. I will call tomorrow to check in with you guys. Sickness just is misery!
Oh Shannon! Bless your hearts. There is nothing more draining - emotionally and physically - on a mommy than sick kids. I am so sorry! I will pray that this passes quickly for you guys.
I will say that both Walker and Haddie had the swine flu four weeks ago. It was nothing for Walker but AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL on Haddie. Crazy flu! Be gone!
Thinking of you guys and praying you were able to get some sleep!
